(Labor Day Weekend): Buses Nowhere Near the Arch #38 Annual Campout near Hannibal, MO ??? Located in the Group Campground at Indian Creek Recreational Area on the North coastline of Mark Twain Lake, about 30 miles west of Hannibal, Missouri. A family-oriented camping event on an 18,000-acre 22 mile long lake featuring an informal VW Bus show with awards on Saturday, informal parts swap meet, ???site-to-site" socializing, "Bus-banter," a Saturday morning scenic Bus caravan through Mark Twain country, awards and door prizes on Saturday evening, a fun evening "lantern walk," campfire activities and more. The total event and camping fee for the full four-day weekend is still only $35! No advance registration is needed or available, so just register your VW upon arrival. 3rd Annual Mooseheart Car Show, Sunday, August 25, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Car entry fee $20.00; spectators donate what you can. Top 40 awards plus Best Student Favorite. Plenty of parking available, food cooked on the grill, beer tent, 50/50 raffle and entertainment by Cruisin Music Radio. Enter the main gate on Rte. 31 where volunteers will guide you to the show grounds. Presented by Moose Lodge #2655 to benefit the Vocational Automotive Shop. Mooseheart is a home & school for children and teens in need.

VW Club participation makes this annual event a real blast! NOTE THAT THE PARADE IS ON SATURDAY THIS YEAR! We'll gather the 'Wagens at Dunkin Donuts, 225 E Lake St. in Bartlett at 11:00 am for a quick snack, then depart at 11:30 to caravan to the parade staging area as a group. This year's show is a one-day event, ensuring it remains manageable for our current staffing level and minimal volunteer help that is available.

While lapel pins won't be available this year, we've got you covered with plenty of other mementos to take home. And for families, there will be a kids' area with exciting activities to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day. Calling All Campers!!! Join us for our 5th Annual VW Campout at Lowden State Park in Oregon, IL. All the RV sites have electric and there are 8 tent sites as well. This has been a popular event in the past so we recommend reserving your site as soon as possible. ALL VW's are welcome! If you don't want to camp, just come out on Saturday afternoon and hang out. This is a rain-or-shine event!

2024 Annual Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival - Three days of events. The festivities will start Friday the 7th of June at 5pm on Main Street in front of Zehnder's Restaurant. We will have a car show right on Main Street for our VW's and Main Street will be shut down to all other traffic. It is a block party and we are at the center of it. Saturday 6/8 we will have our actual show at the River Place right off of Main Street. Details TBA, see Festival page. Sunday 6/9 there is a very large and long parade through town. VWOA will have 3 cars in the show and MVVC will have one.

The best car show in Big Rock! In 2023, we had 372 registered vehicles. This year's theme will be orphan cars; those no longer in production. All vehicles must be 25 years or older. Registration 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Free Registration, Free admission, FREE parking. Trophies awarded at 3:30 pm. 5-B's pork chop & chicken lunch served from 11:30 to 1:30. Concession stand, 50/50 Raffles, 3D Sound DJ, trivia. Prairie State Railroad Club will be providing train rides on their small-gauge railroad from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Free face painting from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Custom graphic T-Shirts available. All proceeds and donations benefit Big Rock Historical Society. Come out and enjoy the day with us. VW-Night at the Grayslake Dog n Suds, Saturday, 4:00 pm 'til 9:00. We packed the place last year and enjoyed some tasty Coney Dogs and Texas Burgers while checking out some cool rides. The 2023 VWCA Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the WindMill Grille & Pizzeria, 90 North Island Ave., Batavia, IL. This is the opportunity for all VWCA members to present areas of concern to the National Officers. We'll have some pizza and a possible visit to a nearby museum. 17th Annual VW Parts & Accessories Swap Meet - Hosted by the Northeast Illinois Volkswagen Association (NIVA). Location is the DuPage County Fairgrounds, Buildings #2 & 3 (indoors!), 2015 W. Manchester Road, Wheaton, Illinois. Swap time is 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, with set-up beginning at 7:30 am. Swap spaces are $35 (space + I swapper). Bi-State VW Club's 27th Annual Show & Shine Picnic, Empire Park, Great River Trail (on the Mississippi), Hampton (Quad Cities area) Illinois. Registration from 8:00 am to noon. Kooler By The Lake is a Midwest Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Volkswagen / Audi Enthusiast Event held on the shores of Lake Michigan in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The event features a car show, vendors, live entertainment, food, a beer garden, and donates to a charitable organization each year. This year's charity is the Safe Harbor Humane Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Kenosha which cares for almost 3000 cats, dogs, and other small domestic animals which are homeless, abused, or abandoned. Kooler By The Lake will be donating a portion of registration fees and beer garden sales to the Safe Harbor Humane Society.

This curious and unique Sycamore Steam Show has become a favorite late-summer gathering spot for all VW enthusiasts. Show is open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, with steam-based displays and vendors, the Noon Whistle (find out why!) and steam tractor parade at 1:30 pm daily. Spend the day ??? bring a lunch or select from several food vendors on site. Admission is $7.00 per person at the gate; children under 12 are free (Seniors admitted on Thursday for $5.00). 8 am to 5 pm at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois, 7 miles off I-90 via Route 20, Marengo Exit. The past comes alive through the display of antique autos, trucks, fire engines, tractors, motorcycles and buses-hundreds of vehicles assemble throughout the Museum campus. Ride the streetcars to the various display areas. Inter-urbans and diesel coach trains will be running on the mainline!

Download this handy pre-registration form for reduced entry fee of $15.00 for show vehicle and up to three passengers to receive free train tickets (a $18.00 value each). (Entry at the gate is $20.00.) Registration must be received by July 29, 2023 to get this reduced entry fee and insure your ability to park your VW with the rest of our group.

Stateline Vintage Volksfolks Vintage Picnic & Car Show if for all VWs, air- or water-cooled, rusted (sorry, I meant "patina") or restored. Event is held rain or shine - a large pavilion will protect you from rain or sun. Registration at 9:00 am to noon. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch, blanket and lawn chairs if you like, or even an EZ-up. There's plenty of room in the park.

As part of the Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival, the Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival will be held at Riverplace, 925 South Main St., Frankenmuth, MI from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or . . . ?

Hey all you campers and VW enthusiasts - it's time to think about summer! This year the Jamboree kicks off Friday June 2nd with camping by the babbling brook. Sat, the 3rd (more camping) potluck supper, Russ Martin has generously donated his time for a campfire song or two and probably a few more fun things. Sun the 4th swap meet and car show. So mark it on the calendar to come on over and enjoy a laid back weekend here in Hudson. Free Admission for spectators.

NIVA will again be participating in the Bartlett, IL Independence Day Parade on Sunday, July 3, 2021. Kick-off this year is 12:00 noon so we need to be in the staging area by 11:15 am. We'll gather at the Dunkin' Donuts, 225 E. Lake St. (Rt. 20) in Bartlett, IL between 10:00 and 11:00 am. At 11:00 am sharp we'll head as a group to the staging area. NIVA Fix-It Day is back! Chris K will be hosting and opening up his garage in Mundelein. There will be light wrenching only, no major engine overhauls please! Chris has a large assortment of tools, a floor jack, jack stands, etc. but unfortunately no lift. Please bring any specialty tools, parts and supplies that you might need for your project. Hot dogs, buns, condiments, bottled water and individual bags of chips will be provided. BYOB if you'd like something other than water and feel free to bring a dessert item. The 33nd Annual Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival Weekend, at Arbor Motion, 669 State Circle, Ann Arbor. Sadly, it has been announced that, even with the change of date and venue, the Michigan Vintage VW Festival Weekend must be cancelled.

The City of Firsts VW Club and the Kokomo Summer Concert Series presents the 15^th Annual Oktoberfest. Event kick-off is Friday, September 20 with a free concert at the Historic Railroad Depot. Saturday morning there is a cruise planned, starting from Foster Park in downtown Kokomo. Saturday afternoon & evening is the FREE car show and FREE swap meet at Foster Park in downtown Kokomo, ending with a FREE concert in the park by ???Hard Days Night??? the premier Beatles tribute band. A private farewell breakfast is on tap for Sunday morning.
