2021 VW Arteon Updated; Euro Passat Sedan is History Come 2023

VWoA says the 2021 Arteon sports a sharper image.  Available in three trims, the refreshed Arteon’s has a new front and spiffy interior decor.  VW’s Digital Cockpit is standard, as is an all-new MIB3 infotainment system.  Prices start at $38,190.  R-Line models get Travel Assist, which steers, accelerates and brakes the vehicle responding to traffic conditions and lane markings.

Automotive News Europe says VW told investors it’s ending the production of the Passat sedan in 2023.  A new Passat wagon, however, is planned.  VW will build that version at the Skoda plant in Bratislava Slovakia.  Meanwhile, VW says it plans a coupe-like Aero battery-electric vehicle for its Emden factory, which currently assembles the Passat/Arteon.  The Passat wagon is popular as a company car.  A sleek Aero model might replace the Arteon.
