VW’s top brass discovered an American supersized fondness for its retro-themed ID. Buzz “Microbus” shown at SXSW, last month, in Austin, Texas. While they’re still saying the USA version will have a longer wheelbase and three-row seating, VW now claims it hasn’t ruled out building it in the States or producing a truck-like version. Yes, there are four two-tone exterior color combos generating that distinctive T1 VW vibe. USA deliveries arrive in 2024.

VW recalled nearly 233,000 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models because the front side airbags might not deploy properly. There’s also a problem with the electric parking brake engaging when it shouldn’t; the vehicle’s windows may roll down unexpectedly.
VW blames corroded vehicle wiring. It’s developing a fix.
