VW showed the extended version of its upcoming third-quarter Super Bowl LVIII ad today at the 2024 Chicago Auto Show media preview.
The ad has Neil Diamond’s “I Am…I Said” as its music bed. Its emotive visual journey through American fascination with various VW models is titled “An American Love Story.” Johannes Leonardo teamed up with Lance Acord (creator of “The Force” VW spot) creating a nostalgic trip through 75 years of VW in the USA.
The tagline “We Shape Its Metal. You Shape Its Soul” resonates with generations of VW fans, as might the soon-to-arrive ID. Buzz electric van.
